There’s nothing better than a ridiculous (but fun!) gimmicky golf collection. All the companies do it and we eat it up every time. July 4th hot dog golf balls? Check. Valentine’s Day candy hearts? Check plus. And now … a Halloween collection that’s just as terrifying as your golf game.
It’s probably obvious from those Spirit Halloweens moving into your neighborhood, but it’s October. And no one knows this more than TaylorMade as they’re dropping a Halloween Collection with golf balls, club coverings and even a new Spider Tour putter.
The TP5 pix golf balls come with “crazy clowns, bloody hands and a blood-soaked TaylorMade logo.” You shouldn’t have any problems identifying and mixing up your ball with your playing partners. They’re also numbered 31, most likely a reference to the Halloween date or a very obscure shoutout to Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller.
The collection also includes a Spider Tour Z Counter Balance black and red putter with the aforementioned “crazy clown,” as does the polka dot head cover. “The black base color and red sight line remind you of blood in the night and the clown-emblazoned counterbalance grip is no laughing matter,” wrote a TaylorMade copywriter having the time of their life.
TaylorMade returns to the core shape of its Spider from five years ago, one of the most successful versions of the mallet brand that has become an icon. What’s intriguing is from that base model, the company is launching a collection of five versions that share the same concepts of high stability with clear alignment and a face with grooves to enhance initial roll. Helped by research in recent years that shows how different players respond to center-of-gravity depth, each model pushes weight selectively back or forward.
The entire package is just what you need to play your best fall golf. Terrify your opponents. Or at the very least, look good while searching for your ball in the ominous never-ending woods.
