Here's what to make of the new Air Jordan Mule golf shoes (plus 17 more post-round slides we love)
We may have seen it all from Nike and Air Jordan. The Jordan Brand has released an all-new silhouette of the iconic Air Jordan 1 Low … and it is quite unique, to say the least. Are they slides? Are they sneakers? Technically, they're neither—they are a slip-on mule that maintains the structure of a traditional sneaker without the hassle of laces and of course, in mule-like fashion, foregoing the heel.
The shoes were initially released in the 1980s Chicago Bulls-inspired red and black “Bred” colorway last month and are available now on the Nike website for $110, but the UNC "University Blue" colorway is the latest iteration of this one-of-a-kind shoe. And while we try to decipher exactly how we feel about the aesthetic of a mule golf shoe, there are certain familiarities that we can cling to in the meantime.
Besides the obvious slip-on feature of the shoe that takes some getting used to, the spikeless sole remains true to the Air Jordan golf-shoe archetype. The memory-foam midsole provides additional comfort while offering a seamless transition from the course to the car (or for everyday life). For an elevated finish, the luxe Carolina blue suede that covers most of the shoe is a delightful surprise—just don't wear them if the forecast calls for rain. The lack of laces makes the shoe feel much more casual, simplifying the overall look of the shoe that would otherwise be too overwhelming.
An official launch date for these one-of-a-kind shoes has yet to be announced, but according to Sole Retriever, they are set to drop next month.
Golf mules may not be for everyone, and we are left wondering if we'll see Nike golfers like Nelly Korda or Tony Finau (who sport the Air Jordan 1 often) rock these at their next tournament. It's unclear if this fad will be here to stay, but we can appreciate a nice pair of slides that we'd throw on after a round. We'll leave you to mull over the Jordan golf mules and introduce a few of our favorite post-round shoe options.
lululemon Women's Restfeel Slides
An easy slip-on shoe is essential for any person who is on the go—from the gym to the course. These slides are designed to sooth feet after a long day while matching almost any look.

Designed for true golfers—the ones who replay their shots in their sleep—these slides with a faux-grass footbed and the golf-ball heels are your next purchase. (We don't make the rules.)
NateBur Bubble Slides Massage Slippers
We really can't explain these golf-ball bubbled slides—or why we already had them in our online cart. If you weren't on board with the Nikes, perhaps move along, but if you're looking for a super affordable option, these can be yours for just $10.
OOFOS Men's Ooahh Slide Sandal
Spotted on Tiger Woods in 2022, these recovery slides absorb 37 percent more impact than other shoe technologies made from foam, according to the company, to reduce stress on your feet and joints. They are bulkier than most slides, but that's just the medical technology at work.
Nobull Men's Pastel Adjustable Slide
The muted tones of these slides are trendy and fun, and would entice us to wear them around for everyday comfort more than just after the gym or to the course.
Nike Men's Calm Slide
adidas Adilette Sport Clog
Alo Women's It Slide 2
The glossy finish gives these slides an upscaled appearance that screams post-Pilates, smoothie-bowl runs in a head-to-toe Alo outfit, and we're here for it.
Gym Shark Rest Day Slides
Available in nine different colorways, these leisurely slides are a fun yet effortless way to spice up your casual fit—and they are super affordable at $34.
Lusso Cloud Scenerio Slide
With a unique grid-like design, this brand has the word “cloud” in its name for a reason. These slides are lightweight, breathable and ultra-cushioned. The outsole features a grooved tread to keep you stable on wet surfaces, and they’re waterproof and ready for post-round pool sessions.
Crocs Mellow Recovery Slide
True Linkswear True FS Slide
These slides have a bit more sophistication to them compared to other options. The contrasted bright-white soles add a stylish element to these modern mules that could rival any pair of slip-on shoes that are more fashion-forward … not to mention they are also comfy.
Peter Millar Hyperlight Slide Nubuck Flip Flop
APL Men's Big Logo TechLoom Slide
Mesh isn't a typical fabric used for slides, and we're not complaining whatsoever. The perforated nature of mesh creates a textured look that would pair well with just about anything.
Olukai Komo Slide
These are definitely more of the sporty-style slides that probably come to mind when you think of post-round shoes to slip into. Still, these remain a solid option for any golfer.
