Overview
Though Golf Digest traditionally ranks only 18-hole courses, Iceland is a land of nine-holers. Brautarholt actually boasts 12 holes with a design planned by Icelandic designer Edwin Roald and built by American shaper Michael Kelly, with some help with local crews. The layout tumbles down beautifully rolling terrain along the clifftop shores, making for dramatic vistas and fun holes. Work is underway on Brautarholt building six additional holes, with the goal of opening up the expanded course in the summer of 2025. The club also aims to do additional work, modifying the seventh hole, changing the 10th, and adding additional length by building new tee boxes to expand the layout to over 6,500 yards.
